We are working on projects that seek to promote development on a Garden Village or Garden Town model, either longer term or within the 2016 timeframe announced for the governments Locally-Led Garden Villages initiative.
Almere Consulting have developed a model of a New Garden Village which can be implemented either as an extension of an existing settlement or as a completely new community of 5,000 to 30,000 people. Taking the best from international experience our model brings countryside into the heart of the village whilst at the same time delivering an efficient transport network with choices weighted towards sustainable travel.
We work with developers, landowners and the public sector looking to take forward schemes based on Garden Village principles. We have extensive experience in negotiating use of street types and housing layouts which make use of international best practice in sustainable urban design.
